I often say: “God doesn’t always call the equipped — but He does equip the called.” And everything I teach today was birthed from the places where the Lord healed me most deeply. I became an emotional eater at six years old, searching for comfort in all the wrong places.
By my teens I was caught in alcohol addiction, destructive patterns, and New Age spirituality — through the doorway of yoga. Outwardly, I succeeded as an actor and improv comedienne (“The Woman of 101 Voices”), but inside I was anxious, empty, and spiritually oppressed. Sadly, my mother took her own life when I was 24.
I felt my world crumbling. I backpacked around 20 European countries in 6 1/2 months, visiting all the “sacred sites.” I went to Machu Picchu in Peru. I moved from NYC to a New Age community on top of a mountain–looking for God.
Then, one April Fool’s Day in my twenties, Jesus Christ rescued me. The day before I believe I heard the audible voice of God, Who asked me a compelling question, “What if everything you thought about God was wrong. Would you be willing to give it up to know the truth?” My immediate answer was, “YES!” The next day, when I surrendered my life to Him, the Lord instantly delivered me from alcoholism! I never had another drink — and four days later, I met my husband Paul who had three years clean and sober.
My life was completely rebuilt by the Lord’s grace. 🙌🥰🙌🕊️ From that healing encounter, God birthed two global ministries that continue to transform lives today:
