I had an unexpected conversation at a farmers market with a complete stranger.
Somehow, we started talking about my podcast. His eyes lit up, and he said, “I’ve always wanted to start one.”
So I asked him a simple question.
“What’s stopping you?”
The answers were familiar. “I don’t know what to say.” “I don’t have the right equipment.” “I’m not sure anyone would listen.” “Maybe someday.”
Those aren’t the real reasons.
They’re the stories we tell ourselves to make fear sound logical. We convince ourselves we need more time, more confidence, or more experience before we begin. In reality, confidence isn’t the starting line. It’s the reward for taking the first step.
Every podcaster you admire once recorded an awkward first episode. Every great communicator started as a beginner.
Your message doesn’t need perfection. It needs permission.
Stop waiting until you feel ready.
The people you’re meant to impact can’t hear the message you’re still keeping to yourself.
